Jessica K Mitchell is a writer living in Bristol, UK. Her flash fiction has been long-listed by Reflex Fiction and for the Fish Publishing prize: her novel for the Arvon-Jerwood Mentorship Scheme. She holds an MA in Creative Writing (Sheffield Hallam) and a first degree in English and Drama (Manchester).

Stories that Jessica has found inspiring this year include The Outline Trilogy by Rachel Cusk, The Narrow Road to the Deep North by Richard Flanagan, Lori and Joe by Amy Arnold, Objects of Desire by Clare Sestanovich and Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan. Non-fiction highlights include Fate and Art by Magdalena Abakanowicz, Whose Story is This? by Rebecca Solnit and Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by David Sedaris.

When she isn’t writing she makes books in the production department of Bristol University Press. She lives with her husband, son and cat.
